Now that old man winter finally packed it in, the April Fools Ride is scheduled for Sunday, April 12.
This urban-themed ride will feature three snow-free paved trails, the Malden and Everett stretches of the Northern Strand Community Trail, the Wellington Greenway in Medford and the Alewife Brook Greenway Trail in Arlington.
The ride begins at 10 a.m. at the rear parking lot of the Dockside Pub on Centre Street in Malden and continues south along the Northern Strand Community Trail.
The ride continues along Mystic River Reservation paths through Medford Square en route to the Alewife Brook Greenway. From there, participants will travel along the Alewife Linear Park/Somerville Community Path onto local streets, eventually making their way back along the Malden River through River’s Edge Park. This ride features 15 miles of flat, easy riding. Plan on two hours. Steady rain cancels the event. For more info, contact Pete Sutton at beausutt@hotmail.com .
