The Community Path of Lynn Coalition is holding a kickoff party at the Lynn Museum, 590 Washington St., in Lynn on Thursday, Feb. 28 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.
All are welcome to attend the event which is being held to raise money to build out the path which is an extension of the Northern Strand Community Trail. That trail now ends at the Saugus line near the former O’Briens Restaurant, 829 Boston Street in Lynn.
The Lynn Community Path, which follows an abandoned railroad line, is expected to be a linear park where people can meet, create, walk, bicycle and attend outdoor events. Those events could eventually include plays, concerts, art exhibits and more.
Designs for the first leg of the trail after Market Basket will be on display and there will also be food, music and some presentations. Bricks and t-shirts will be sold to help raise money for the path.
