On the evening of Thursday, June 22, volunteers, removal experts and Bike to the Sea Members and staff removed over 200 linear feet of Knotweed along the Northern Strand Trail in Malden near Clapp Street. This was the second of many invasive plant removal efforts. We encountered several empty birds nests within the tall brush. We started with a brief safety training on how to properly use tools and properly remove the Knotweed and ended with feedback from participants for ways on how we can improve our future cleanups.
