B2C Bike Kitchen

The B2C Bike Kitchen is a community space where work stands and tools are available for do-it-yourself bike repair.

It is not a full-service bike shop, but it is staffed by knowledgable volunteers who can assist you in making your own adjustments and repairs.

Fixing flats, adjusting brakes and gears, and oiling chains are some of the most common types of work done at the Bike Kitchen. More involved repairs, like replacing a bottom bracket, installing new brake or shifter cables—or even building a wheel—can also be performed.

  • Wed. & Thurs. 5:30–7 p.m.
  • Sat. 10 a.m.–1 p.m.

The Bike Kitchen is located on the Northern Strand Trail at 158 Canal Street in Malden.

Parking is easily available on the opposite side of Canal Street.

  • The Bike Kitchen is available for use by members of the public.
  • Check in before use by clicking here.
  • Membership supports our efforts, but is not required to participate.
  • Sign up to be a Bike Kitchen volunteer.

Who does the Bike Kitchen serve?

In preparation for winter, when the Bike Kitchen is closed, we are not currently accepting bike donations.

If you have a bike in good condition that can be made safe to ride with a basic tune-up, we’ll be glad to have it in the Spring.

Bike Kitchen is awesome! I was able to pick up a donated bike two weeks ago while volunteering. Since then the bike has helped me get healthy by biking to work everyday. It has also helped me build my mechanic skills at the Bike Kitchen and I have been able to immerse myself in a new community with awesome people!

A true community gem. I rolled in off the Northern Strand Trail with fussy brakes. A volunteer quickly dialed in my front brake, then offered to replace the rear cable and even lubed the chain. Friendly, patient, and skillful—runs on donations (I gave $10). My bike feels safe again. Thank you, B2C Bike Kitchen!
