Introduction to Gravel Ride

Bike to the Sea and Lynn based bicycle shop North Shore Cycle are hosting an “Introduction to Gravel Riding” event and group ride from the Northern Strand Linear Park to the Lynn Woods Reservation or Rumney Marsh and back. Gravel riding simply means riding on any manner of unpaved surfaces. The event is open to anyone at any skill level.

Meeting Location: 27 Spencer St. Lynn, MA (across from Market Basket) Parking available at Market Basket parking lot.

Choose your ride (See them all here.)

• Hard – Linear Park to Lynn Woods Reservation and back -11 Miles
• Hard – Linear Park to Lynn Woods Reservation and back – 8 Miles
• Easy – Linear Park to Rumney Marsh and back – 7.5 Miles

There will be refurbished mountain/hybrid bike giveaways on a first-come/first served basis, as well as a raffled entry-level gravel/hybrid Fuji Absolute 1.3 hybrid bicycle. If you need a bike, you can receive one by request while supplies last. Reach out to events@biketothesea.org with request.

The event timeline is as follows:

• 9am-10am: Registration, bike checks, distribute donated bikes
• 10am-12pm: Guided bike ride from the Lynn Linear Park to Lynn Woods Reservation/Rumney Marsh and back
• 12pm-1pm: Free, catered lunch, additional bike checks, new bike demos via NSC, and bicycle raffle
