Exciting news! 🚲 With support from AARP’s Community Challenge Flagship Grant, MassDOT is launching Golden Gears—a new bikeshare education and activation program designed to help adults ages 50+ feel confident using bikeshare across the Commonwealth.
Keep an eye out for Golden Gears events this fall in Everett, Worcester, and Springfield!
To kick things off, Bike to the Sea co-hosted a group ride along the Northern Strand Community Trail, with participants riding Bluebikes from Rivergreen Park to the B2C Bike Kitchen in Malden and back.
We were also pleased to meet Everett’s newly elected mayor, Robert Van Campen (pictured on the right in the second photo), a regular Northern Strand Community Trail user and enthusiastic supporter of Bike to the Sea’s work.
