‘A New Beginning’ As Work Begins on Last Segment of the Trail in Lynn

About 100 people showed up for the groundbreaking ceremony for a project that will create a separated bike lane through downtown Lynn to Nahant Beach

The project will extend the trail with curb-separated, on-street bike lanes through downtown Lynn to Nahant Beach.

Some 220 people rode in the annual “Bike to the Sea Day Ride,” making it the largest turnout in the organization’s 32-year history.

There was a good turnout at the annual dinner meeting in Lynn where board members were honored for their years of service.

The estimated $11 million Northern Strand Trail Extension project in Lynn is in progress and is tentatively scheduled to start construction this
